Bubba Chandler Strikes Out Career-High 11 In Latest Start
6 months agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Bubba Chandler struck out a career-high 11 batters over 6 2/3 innings Thursday for Double-A Altoona. He gave up two earned runs on three hits and a walk as he picked up the victory. June has been kind to the talented right-hander with Chandler putting together a 3-1 record this month with a 2.49 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. The 21-year-old is the top pitching prospect for Pittsburgh after the graduation of Paul Skenes from prospect status. Chandler has really turned things on for Altoona this month after a rough May. If the past four starts are any indication, Chandler may have turned a corner in adjusting to pitching at Double-A. If he continues, he could be pitching in Triple-A soon.
