Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow, thumb) cleared a major hurdle in his injury recovery on Monday. He took a total of 60 swings while facing live pitching and a pitching machine. It was the first time he'd taken batting practice since he underwent thumb surgery. According to Scott Lauber of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Harper is expected to go through the same batting practice session on Wednesday. After that, he could begin a rehab assignment next week.
