New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson netted a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to the Canucks. Nelson now has 21 goals and 40 points in 50 games, giving him a 0.8 points per game pace, which is the highest of his career. Nelson has never broken 30 goals or 60 points in a season but is on pace to do both this season on the back of a career-best 2.72 shots per game rate. His 15.4 percent shooting percentage has helped too, but it is not a career-high and only hovers about two percent above his career average. If there is a knock on Nelson's offensive production, it is that very little of it comes on the power play, with only six of his points coming on the man advantage. Most of his production coming at even-strength likely means that his production is more stable, but keeps him from having high-end fantasy value.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
