Vancouver Canucks rookie winger sensation Brock Boeser was injured in Monday’s game against the New York Islanders. With less than 30 seconds remaining in regulation, Boeser had an unfortunate accident as his proposed hit on the Islanders Cal Clutterbuck resulted in Boeser colliding with the Canucks open bench door. He needed help getting off the ice and did not return for the overtime period. Canucks head coach Travis Green told reporters after the Canucks overtime victory that Boeser was taken to the hospital for “precautionary reasons.” This is a huge blow for the Canucks, seeing as how Boeser was one of the front-runners for this year’s Calder trophy with an impressive stat line of 29 goals and 26 assists in 62 games.--Amir Salehnia
