Brandon Sproat Punches Out Nine in Latest Start
Brandon Sproat struck out nine hitters in his latest start on July 31. In this outing, Sproat allowed just three hits and no runs across five innings. He served up three walks. This was a nice bounce-back outing for the budding ace as he allowed two runs with two walks in his previous start on July 25. Before this game, Sproat was riding an incredible 23-straight inning shutout streak. During this stretch, Sproat struck out 27 hitters while allowing only six walks with eight total hits. While he had a slow start to the season, the Florida product has been one of the best pitchers at Triple-A during the second half. Given his strong resurgence, he should be in the mix to debut in the majors in the coming weeks.
