Braden Holtby Will Need His Best To Take On The Best
7 years agoWashington Capitals goalie Braden Holtby is coming off back-to-back shutouts, which were his first two of the 2017-18 campaign, including the regular season. Philipp Grubauer being named to start Washington’s first two playoff games made headlines, but remember the Caps dropped both games. Holtby retook the crease and hasn’t let it go, earning a 12-5 since heading into the finals. If he can continue to play the way he closed out the Eastern Conference Finals, Washington will be extremely hard to beat. Sitting across the rink from Holtby, though, is Marc-Andre Fleury, a Conn Smythe front-runner and the best goalie to this point in the playoffs. Start Holtby in DFS formats, as he looks strong and does stand a chance to emerge as the better 'tender.

Braden Holtby Gets Start After All In San Jose
3 years agoDallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby will start in San Jose against the Sharks on Saturday. There had been some rumors that Jake Oettinger may get the nod. That was not the case. Holtby was in goal for that third period barrage by the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night. He gave up five goals on 45 shots and three goals in the third period. Holtby had won three straight starts before that allowing just four goals. The 39-save win versus Carolina was one of his best games of the season. Holtby should see a high-paced San Jose team on Saturday.

Braden Holtby Looking For Third Straight Win Monday
3 years agoDallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby seeks his third consecutive win on Monday night. The Stars entertain the Arizona Coyotes at home. They have won six straight games overall as the competition heats up in goal. Why is that? It appears that Ben Bishop may be placed on an AHL rehab assignment in the near future. With an already crowded goaltending carousel, an impressive performance is a must for Holtby. He is 4-4-1 in 11 appearance with a solid 2.30 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. With an attractive contract, Dallas will have options as Holtby continues to impress in net.

Braden Holtby Stands Tall In Tuesday's Home Win
3 years agoDallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby has been recharged since not playing for a couple weeks in November. He defeated Arizona last Saturday and then topped it by saving 39 of 40 shots against the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday. Carolina bombarded Holtby with 15 high-danger scoring chances over the final 40 minutes. The Dallas goaltender stopped all but one of them. Carolina just scored once despite an expected goals for of 3.35 at even-strength. Holtby has seen 35 or more shots four times this season and yielded just nine goals in those games. The Dallas goalie upped his mark to 4-4-1 in 2021-22.

Braden Holtby Makes A Winning Return
3 years agoDallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby was back in action on Saturday and delivered a winning performance with 25 saves in a 3-2 victory over the Coyotes. He returned from a lower-body injury, in what was his first start since Nov. 10. Holtby had gone cold prior to getting hurt, so the time spent on the sidelined could've actually been good for him. The 2018 Stanley Cup champion now has a 3-4-1 record for the season with a 2.44 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. With Jake Oettinger having made an impressive 4-0-0 start to the season, it will be intriguing to see who gets the nod on Tuesday against Carolina.
