Bobby Wagner 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Poised For An Increase In Tackles
1 year agoLongtime Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner returns to the Seahawks after one season as a Ram. Even after turning 33 in June, there's no reason to think Wagner has lost a step. As a Ram, he made 140 tackles and a career-high 6.0 sacks. The Rams involved him as a pass rusher more than the Seahawks ever did. He rushed the quarterback 113 times. His pressure-to-sack rate was also higher than usual. He only made 20 pressures, no more than with the Seahawks in 2020, but he twice as many into sacks. Back in Seattle, he will unlikely continue to rush the passer as often as he did in Los Angeles. He only averages 70 pass rushes per season. But he will probably make more tackles in Seattle's system, as linebackers thrive there. Give Wagner a boost in tackle-heavy leagues, but knock his value down a little in sack-heavy leagues.
