Bo Bichette Looks To Increase Hitting Streak To Four Games
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette will look to notch a hit for the fourth straight contest as he takes on New York Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes Thursday night. There's a good chance he can get it done as the hitting machine has at least one hit in 10 of his last 12 games and he's enjoyed big-time success in his career against Cortes. It's only an 11 plate-appearance sample but Bichette has gone 5-for-10 with a homer, a double, a walk, and a 1.446 OPS in his career against the Yankees southpaw. The 25-year-old has racked up four multi-hit efforts over his last nine contests while his .319 batting average ranks fifth in all of baseball and second in the American League next to the Rays' Yandy Diaz at .321. Bichette should be in his usual two-hole in the series finale Thursday night.
