Blake Treinen Hopes To Build Off Strong Finish From 2017
7 years agoBlake Treinen started the season as the Washington Nationals closer before failing miserably in the spotlight, he finished the season as the Oakland Athletics closer and shined bright away from the glitz and glamor of a pennant race. Treinen has the stuff of a right-handed Zach Britton, with a 97-mph hard sinker that gives hitters fits. His issue in Washington was that he was elevating that sinker and just got pummeled. He finished 2017 with a 2.13 ERA and 13 Saves for the Athletics. Treinen figures to be the closer to begin the season in Oakland and if you are someone who waits on Saves, Treinen has a chance at 30 out in the Bay Area.
