Ben Zobrist Unlikely To Make Much Of An Impact In 2018
7 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman/outfielder Ben Zobrist is much more likely to make an impact for the Cubs, but not fantasy owners in 2018. Entering the third-year of a four-year contract, Zobrist, 36, has aged and saw his numbers decline last year. The 2017 campaign saw Zobrist hit .232 with 12 home runs and 50 RBI in 128 games. With infielder Javier Baez around to provide gold-glove defense and strong power numbers as well as the arrival of infielder/outfielder Ian Happ, Zobrist likely won't be an everyday player. Unless there is an injury, despite eligibility at second base and outfield, Zobrist can be avoided.
