Baker Mayfield has Low-End QB1 Appeal in Week 16
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was able to post better results during their loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday evening, putting him back on the low-end QB1 radar in Week 16. Before that game, Mayfield was held under 200 passing yards in four straight games. In Week 15, the 30-year-old looked better as he threw for 277 passing yards with two touchdowns and one interception, totaling 22.0 PPR points. Mayfield will now look to carry some momentum into a matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Week 16. However, this is a tougher matchup as this defensive unit has allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. The return of wide receiver Mike Evans has given this passing game a boost as he brought in 132 yards of Mayfield's total on Thursday evening. Fantasy managers should be able to trust Mayfield with his top option back in action alongside Chris Godwin Jr. and breakout rookie Emeka Egbuka as a low-end QB1.
