5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler looked like a star in the making in the team's Week 1 win over the Colts. Concerns about Ekeler being able to handle being the feature back seemed blown out of proportion as Ekeler rushed the ball 12 times for 58 yards and totaled another 96 yards on catches. He also finished with three total touchdowns including a screen pass he took to the house from 55 yards out. It's still early, so it's not clear if this was a sign of LA's dominance in the run or Indy's porous rushing defense, but either way, all the positive boxes got checked on Sunday.
