Austin Ekeler Excels In The Passing Game
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler shined more as a receiver than a runner again on Sunday, racking up 58 yards through the air on five catches while he only tallied 11 yards on four carries on the ground. The catches brought Ekeler up to 950 receiving yards on the season, and he could easily find himself topping the 1,000-yard receiving mark. He's had more than 50 yards receiving in each of his last five games, including a 108-yard performance against the Chiefs in the first half of November. With a raid game in KC to finish up the schedule, Ekeler could have a heck of a stat to hang his hat on when he argues for the opportunity to be the main man next season instead of LA paying through the nose to retain Melvin Gordon's services.
