Approach Camilo Villegas With Caution
4 years agoCamilo Villegas enters the Palmetto Championship on the back of a missed cut at the Memorial, in which he lost strokes in every major category except on approach. While Villegas' irons continue to be the strength of his game, he is far better with his wedges than he is with his longer irons. Congaree measures 7,685 yards on the scorecard, and over his last 36 rounds the four-time PGA Tour winner ranks 108th in proximity from 175-200 yards, and 96th in proximity from 200-plus yards. The Colombia native is a far more suitable option on a shorter course, where his elite wedge play can shine.
