Anze Kopitar Leads Attack, Falls Short to Vancouver
5 years agoLos Angeles Kings forward Anze Kopitar scored a goal and an assist in Saturday night's 3-2 loss to the Canucks. Kopitar is no stranger to being the primary driver of offense in Los Angeles, but in a game where the Kings put 51 shots on net, they were not able to score a goal that did not directly involve Kopitar. His six shots on net were only matched by linemate Alex Iafallo, though Kopitar played just over four minutes more than Iafallo. Kopitar is on pace for 30 goals this season and should get every opportunity to do so as the focal point of the Kings offense, but he has had to hold a shooting percentage of 18.5 percent to get to this point. Considering his career average is 12.8 percent, it is safe to assume that his scoring rate will drop as the season goes on, making Kopitar a potential sell-high candidate.
