Antonio Senzatela Wins With No Strikeouts
6 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela was expected to have an easier draw since he was facing the Mets, but it wasn't expected to be that easy. Senzatela didn't strike out a soul in six innings of one-run ball in New York, allowing him to take the win. Senzatela walked two and gave up four hits over the course of the outing, including a solo home run to Michael Conforto, but that was barely a pin-prick when the Rockies put up five. Senzatela now sits at just 4.95 K/9, 3.75 BB/9, an ERA of 4.95, and an xFIP of 4.97, so he's actually pitching about how one would expect when they strike out so few hitters. It's great that it worked this week, but don't expect him to pull off a similar feat when the Cubs come to Colorado next week.
