Anthony Davis 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoLos Angeles Lakers center/forward Anthony Davis might have seen limited action towards the end of last season, but he still posted dominant numbers, including career highs in rebounding (12), assists (3.9) and steals (1.6). He was on his way to posting a monster year before the trade drama around him derailed his season. Davis was averaging around 28 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, 2.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals in 36 minutes per game before news of his trade demand became public. He ended up featuring in only 11 games following the All-Star break, logging 21 minutes a night. After finally getting his wish granted in the offseason, AD will be nicely rested for 2019-20 and he's in a perfect spot to have a career year in L.A. His assists numbers will likely suffer in the presence of LeBron James, but it looks like getting career highs in pretty much every other category requires only effort which Davis should have plenty of. LeBron has the special ability to make everyone around him better and this shouldn't be any different with Davis, who will also be playing for a new contract.
