Angel Perdomo Inks One-Year, Non-Guaranteed Split Contract With Braves
1 year agoThe Atlanta Braves and left-hander Angel Perdomo have agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed split contract for the 2024 season. The club claimed the southpaw off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates last month but he will miss the 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in October. The contract ensures he remains within the organization after he tossed a healthy 3.72 ERA across 30 appearances with the Pirates in the 2023 season. He also impressed with a 3.18 ERA across 20 appearances at the Triple-A level a season ago. The 29-year-old has logged 52 career big-league appearances in parts of three seasons, working to a 5.55 ERA in that time but his 4.39 FIP, 3.65 SIERA, and massive 35.8% K%, albeit alongside a 15.8% BB%, are far more encouraging.
