Carolina Hurricanes winger Andrei Svechnikov (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup on Friday against the Detroit Red Wings and is also expected to miss Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers. He withdrew from the lineup earlier this week due to an undisclosed injury. According to Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site, head coach Rod Brind'Amour hopes Svechnikov can return to action next week. In Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tyson Jost rejoined the lineup as Svechnikov's replacement. However, he offers no fantasy value as a fourth-line piece. Jackson Blake has probably received the biggest boost from a fantasy perspective, joining the first line. The 21-year-old will look to end a four-game pointless streak on Friday. Blake has recorded 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 65 games for the season.--Taavi Pailk
