Amari Cooper 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Veteran Reunites With Old Team
Amari Cooper returned to the Raiders on a one-year contract following a season split between the Browns and the Bills. The 31-year-old totaled 44 catches for 547 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games in 2024. However, the move wasn't about returning a familiar face for the Raiders. Cooper is a potential replacement for Jakobi Meyers, who requested a trade after failing to negotiate a new contract with the team. If Meyers leaves, Cooper will be a starting receiver on an offense that appears much-improved on paper. However, Meyers may stay in Las Vegas. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Raiders have no plans to trade their No. 1 wide receiver despite his request due to his importance to the team's offense. If Meyers stays put, Cooper will have to fight against rookies Dont'e Thornton Jr. and Jack Bech for snaps. And at 31 years old, Cooper appears to have declined physically and now has to fight against Brock Bowers, Ashton Jeanty, and his fellow wide receivers for touches. Cooper shouldn't be more than an afterthought in fantasy football leagues.
