Alvin Kamara 2018 Outlook: The Ceiling Has Never Been Higher
6 years agoNew Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara burst onto the scene as a rookie two seasons ago. Heading into the 2019-2020 season, his ceiling has never been higher. The Saints gave him clear lead-dog duties when they decided to let veteran running back Mark Ingram walk to the Baltimore Ravens. They brought in former Minnesota Vikings running Latavius Murray, but this is absolutely Kamara's backfield to dominate. In PPR formats, Kamara is currently ranked as the third or fourth running back, but he could even be considered the number one or two guy at the position this season.
Kamara should have no problem hitting 1,000 yards on the ground this year, and he could even put in 1,000 yards in the air as he's likely the clear number two receiving threat for an elite Saints offense. He's also been great in the touchdown department in his career with 31 total. Entering his third year, Kamara is a great investment in both dynasty and redraft formats. After missing just one game in two seasons, which was a rest game at the end of last season, he's going to be on the field plenty and in a position to score a ton of fantasy points in the coming season. He is the rare high-floor, high-ceiling player that is a solid top-five pick everywhere.
