Aliaksei Protas Out Week-To-Week
Washington Capitals forward Aliaksei Protas (lower body) did not play in Sunday's contest against the New York Islanders and is considered week-to-week. He could miss the remainder of the regular season due to a lower-body injury sustained on Friday night in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Protas has taken a huge step forward in 2024-25, scoring 30 goals and 66 points across 76 games. In Protas' absence, Connor McMichael returned to a top-six role Sunday afternoon, with Anthony Beauvillier taking the open spot in the lineup. McMichael had a quiet outing with no points and one shot on goal over 17:39 of play. He has enjoyed a career year with 55 points (25 goals, 30 assists) in 77 games, but McMichael is currently on a streak of one point in his last seven games.
