Winger Alexandre Texier has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Montreal Canadiens. The French forward quickly found a new employer after the St. Louis Blues terminated his two-year, $4.2 million contract on Sunday. With the Blues, Texier appeared in only eight games this season, contributing one assist. He should receive a lot more playing opportunities in Montreal, as the Canadiens are going through an injury crisis in the attacking department. Patrik Laine (abdomen), Alex Newhook (ankle), and Kirby Dach (foot) have all landed on the shelf. With that said, Texier has never exceeded 30 points during an NHL campaign, meaning his fantasy value remains low.--Taavi Pailk
