As expected, veteran winger Alex Ovechkin has officially signed on the dotted line to extended his stay with the Washington Capitals. The 35-year-old unrestricted free agent will receive $47.5 million over the next five seasons, which comes with a $9.5 million cap hit. Ovechkin is one of the best goal scorers to ever lace up his skates in the National Hockey League. He has been the top goal-scorer in the league during seven of the past nine seasons. In total, he has 730 goals in 1,197 career games. Last year, he scored 24 goals and recorded 42 points in 45 games. He recorded 182 shots but slipped below the 20-minute-per-game mark for the first time in four years. Ovechkin should continue to be a top fantasy target for the upcoming 2021-22 season. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
