Alex Colome Roughed Up In Grapefruit League Debut
Alex Colome was roughed up in his spring debut with his new team. Colome pitched one inning, surrendering five hits and four runs- including one home run- while fanning one batter. The veteran reliever threw mostly fastballs and cutters, though he allowed a ton of loud contact- five balls traveled at an exit velocity of 100 MPH or greater. That said, Colome did get a nice punch-out with his cutter- and it is only the first outing of the spring. The 32-year-old will be in line for some saves in manager Rocco Baldelli's wide-open bullpen, though he'll want to put forth a better performance in his next outing. He could be a late-round option for those who miss out on the top and middle-tier closers at his 160 ADP.
