Alec Mills Tosses Five Scoreless Innings In Victory

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Alec Mills threw five scoreless innings in Sunday's victory versus the Miami Marlins. Mills also allowed six hits with no walks and three strikeouts. It was only his third start of the season and he is now 3-1 with a 5.18 ERA. Mills has mostly worked out of the bullpen this season, but he is filling in for starting pitcher Trevor Williams (appendicitis) at the moment. Williams is currently without a timeline for his return and Mills will continue to replace him in the rotation. Mills next turn in the rotation will be on Saturday versus a tough Los Angeles Dodgers offense. Mills can remain on the waiver wire for now.
