2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols is serving as the designated hitter and is batting second in Game 1 of the National League Wild-Card Series on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies and right-hander Zack Wheeler. Pujols has had a resurgent season with the Cardinals in what is expected to be his final major-league season. The 42-year-old future Hall of Famer reached the 700-homer mark late in the year and hit .270/.345/.550 with 24 home runs, 68 RBI, 42 runs scored and a stolen base in his 307 regular season at-bats. He's entering postseason play riding a five-game hitting streak in which he's gone 6-for-12 (.500) with three home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored for the Cardinals.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
