Aidan O'Connell Efficient In Preseason Debut
4 months agoLas Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell completed 7-of-9 passes for 76 yards in the teams' 24-23 loss against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday. He did not throw a touchdown or interception. O'Connell got the start for the Raiders and played the entirety of the first quarter. The second-year QB quickly marched Las Vegas' first-team unit down the field on his lone possession, but the team stalled deep in Vikings territory and would settle for a field goal. O'Connell showed early chemistry with wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, hooking up with him for 45 yards on three receptions during the drive. It was a solid debut for him as he continues to compete with Gardner Minshew II for the Raiders starting quarterback job. It will be interesting to see how this QB battle shakes out, as the Las Vegas offense has some players that could be fantasy-relevant with decent quarterback play. Las Vegas will take on the Dallas Cowboys at home next Saturday.
