Aidan Miller 2026 Fantasy Outlook: Intriguing Power/Speed Combo Waiting in the Wings
Philadelphia Phillies shortstop prospect Aidan Miller was the 27th-overall pick in the 2023 Draft and is currently ranked as the team's top prospect per MLB.com. The former first-rounder got off to a slow start at the plate last season, hitting just .217 over his first 77 games at Double-A before heating up at the end of July. He hit .361 over his final 31 games at Double-A, which earned the youngster a promotion to Triple-A for the final eight games. The right-handed slugger showed a keen eye even when he wasn't hitting, and carried a superb 14.9 percent walk rate and .382 OBP at Double-A, which in turn helped him make use of his base-stealing ability, swiping 52 bags at that level (and seven more at Triple-A). With a tantalizing blend of speed and power (14 home runs in 2025), there is good reason to be excited about him for fantasy purposes, however, the 21-year-old has no professional experience at any other position outside of shortstop, and Trea Turner blocks his path to the big leagues. As such, Miller will likely begin the year at Triple-A despite an invite to big league camp, but could be an upside bench stash for managers in deep leagues, especially those with an available NA spot to slot him into until he gets the call. If Miller is seen getting reps at another position at Triple-A and is swinging a hot bat, or if Turner were to suffer an injury, it could be time to roster MLB's No. 23 overall prospect (who should already be stashed away in dynasty leagues).
