Adam Thielen 2019 Player Outlook: Target Hog Wide Receiver In Promising Pass-First Offense
5 years agoThielen is slotted right in that third tier of WR next to Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, and T.Y. Hilton. This is a deep year at receiver and all of these guys are either high-upside or extremely safe options that are going to see 140+ targets a piece. The same can be said for Thielen, who reeled in 113 of his 153 targets in 2018 on his way to a WR7 ranking. It’s worth noting he dropped a bit in the second half and ranked WR23 from weeks 9-17. The Vikings didn’t add any pass catchers to compete with Diggs and Thielen, so a comparable season can be expected. The schedule is phenomenal with the only real tough games coming against the Bears. He still had success against them last year, however. I wouldn’t go out of my way to reach for Thielen, but would certainly let him fall in my lap towards the late third round or early fourth.
