Kansas City Royals star shortstop Adalberto Mondesi continues to progress slowly in returning from his shoulder subluxation, and the next step for him is to begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Omaha. Mondesi will start in the designated hitter role followed by a couple of short three- to five-inning stints before the team reassesses his progress. Kansas City is being reasonably cautious with bringing the young star back since the injury was so serious and the team is completely out of the playoff hunt this season. Mondesi has been out since July 17, and it wouldn't be surprising if he's not back with the big club for another week or two.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
