Abraham Almonte Set for a Backup Role in 2018
7 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Abraham Almonte is set for a bench role in 2018. Almonte is a solid bench piece and his versatility makes him valuable on a "real life" team, but it does not translate to any legitimate fantasy value. Almonte slashed .233/.314/.366 in 2017 while playing in 69 games. Even if injuries struck the Indians outfield and led Almonte into a starting role, he still wouldn't be someone recommended in most formats. Without that starting role bringing consistent at bats, there are no formats where Almonte should be drafted.
