Preseason NFL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel (8/8/19)

After a small sample of NFL action that saw the Denver Broncos narrowly defeat the Atlanta Falcons during the league’s annual Hall of Fame Game, the preseason officially kicks off on Thursday.

With 11 games scheduled, we will get a better idea of who will make the cut as teams look to scale down their rosters as we head towards Week 1. It will also give those in the DFS community a chance to fine-tune their skills before the season officially begins in a little under a month from now.

DFS Quarterbacks

Daniel Jones - QB, vs. NYJ ($6,000 FD, $5,500 DK) 

Selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Jones enters the season surrounded by skepticism. The former Blue Devil has looked good during camp, but he still has a long way to go to silence the collective groans of those in the metropolitan area. However, this will be his first step down a path of redemption, with the preseason likely be his last opportunity to see action before he takes over the reigns from Eli Manning, which is something that may not happen in the immediate future.

Jacoby Brissett - QB, @ BUF ($6,000 FD, $5,500 DK) 

With Andrew Luck (calf) dealing with yet another preseason injury, Brissett has been getting first-team reps. Although Luck is confident that he will be available when the Colts begin the season against the Los Angeles Chargers, the former Patriot will get some work in on Thursday in preparation that his number may be called to be the main signal-caller come Week 1.

 

DFS Running Backs

Devin Singletary - RB, vs. IND ($6,000 FD, $5,500 DK) 

We will be getting a preview of what is an inevitability in Buffalo as Singletary is projected to take over as the team’s leading back at some point down the line. Though LeSean McCoy was quick to proclaim himself “the guy,” it remains a high probability that he will forfeit that spot before the end of the regular season, especially with the veteran potentially (likely) becoming a free agent next offseason. Singletary has been practicing with the first-team quite a bit during training camp thus far and on Thursday, he should play a healthy amount against the visiting Colts in his first unofficial game.

Brian Hill - RB, @ MIA ($6,000 FD, $5,500 DK)

Hill nearly had more touches that the rest of his teammates during the Hall of Fame Game against the Denver Broncos, finishing with 11 carries for 57 yards while also scoring a touchdown off of a pass from quarterback Kurt Benkert in the second quarter. The 23-year-old has looked great during camp and is in a battle with Ito Smith for the right to back up Devonta Freeman this upcoming season. He will get some work on Thursday night as the Atlanta coaching staff attempts to figure out the roster for Week 1.

 

DFS Wide Receivers

Jakobi Meyers - WR, @ DET ($6,000 FD, $5,500 DK) 

Meyers has been making some waves during Pats' training camp and has been getting some solid reps. With questions surrounding the health and availability of the team's core receivers (Julian Edelman, Demaryius Thomas, and Josh Gordon), the staff will want to see as much as they can out of the undrafted rookie. N'Keal Harry may be available to play following an injury scare that saw him briefly exit the field during practice on Tuesday, but he may be limited.

Curtis Samuel - WR, @ CHI ($6,000 FD, $5,5000 DK)

After a few rocky seasons in Carolina, Samuel has been a camp standout. Touted for his blazing speed, he is projected to line up opposite of D.J. Moore this coming season. Despite this, head coach Ron Rivera will still want to see how his offseason progression will translate as it relates to an actual game. Expect Samuel to be involved plenty against the Bears.

 

DFS Tight Ends

Matt LaCosse - TE, @ DET ($6,000 FD, $5,500 DK)

With the retirement of Rob Gronkowski and the looming suspension of the newly acquired Benjamin Watson, the Patriots may look to LaCosse as the team's first option on the depth chart.  The rookie should get plenty of action during the first game of the preseason as the team looks to figure out the dilemma at the tight end position.
