NFL DFS Lineup Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel: Preseason Week 2 Fantasy Football (8/17/2024)

Sean Tucker - CFB DFS Lineup Picks, Daily Fantasy College Football, NFL Draft Rookie

The top daily fantasy football lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel - NFL preseason Week 2 games on August 17, 2024. Doug's NFL DFS analysis and sleepers picks.

Week two of the NFL preseason is upon us and we are blessed with a proper eight-game slate tonight. Most of the games start early at 7 PM Eastern, while the lone game at 10 PM features the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders.

The number of games on tonight’s slate gives us a true opportunity to follow optimal DFS tournament strategy, and stacking should be a vital part of your plan tonight. Double stacking is highly recommended and there are several spots to pull that off tonight.

Here you will be provided daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Saturday evening eight-game slate of Week 2 of the NFL preseason on 8/17/24. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from high-end players and elite options to backup and contrarian players on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Thanks for reading, and good luck RotoBallers!

Preseason NFL DFS Picks – Quarterbacks

Trey Lance, DAL at LV

We rode with Lance last weekend and he put up a strong game. Once again, he is expected to get the bulk of the snaps for the Cowboys as he fights for a roster position. Lance should have a bevy of pass catchers at his disposal, such as Jalen Brooks, Jalen Tolbert, Ryan Flournoy, and Luke Schoonmaker.

This makes him one of the easier quarterbacks to stack on the slate. Lance’s ability on the ground gives him a bit of a floor, and his volume gives him a ceiling. He’s a strong option in all game formats.

Stetson Bennett, LAR at LAC

Stetson Bennett may have thrown four interceptions last week, but he still put up a good enough game that he was worth using in tournaments. This week, it’s expected that he will see the majority of the snaps with the Rams sitting both Matthew Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo

Bennett may not have as many weapons to work with as he had last weekend (Jordan Whittington is most likely sitting), but we play volume over talent in the preseason. You can stack him with Xavier Smith and Drake Stoops to optimize your tournament lineups.

ALSO CONSIDER: Ben DiNucci (BUF), Sam Ehlinger (IND), Malik Willis (TEN), Mac Jones (JAX), Luis Perez (LAC), Gardner Minshew II (LV)

Preseason NFL DFS Picks – Running Backs

George Holani, SEA at TEN

George Holani is competing with Kenny McIntosh for the third running back spot on the Seahawks and he made his presence known last weekend with a touchdown to go along with strong running. With the top two running back spots locked in, Holani and McIntosh should see plenty of work this week. Holani’s ability as a receiver gives him a big enough floor that he is a cash-game option.

Sean Tucker, TB at JAX

Like Holani, Sean Tucker is competing for a roster spot on the Buccaneers. The top two backs seem locked in, as Rashad White and Bucky Irving have done nothing to lose their positions on the team.

Tucker looks to move ahead of Chase Edmonds as the third running back, as Edmonds is struggling to stay healthy and get on the field. Tucker averaged almost seven yards per carry on ten rushes last weekend and chipped in two receptions in the passing game. He should see just as much work this weekend and is both a cash and tournament option.

ALSO CONSIDER: Evan Hull (IND), Israel Ibanikanda (NYJ), Deuce Vaughn (DAL), Julius Chestnut (TEN), Michael Wiley (WSH), Jaylen Wright (MIA), Zach Evans (LAR)

Preseason NFL DFS Picks – Wide Receivers

Malik Washington, MIA vs WSH

It was expected that Malik Washington would have a big role for the Dolphins last weekend, but he only caught one pass. Beat reporters for Miami think he should be a larger part of the game plan this weekend. He has made waves at camp and makes for a good stacking option with either Schuyler Thompson or Mike White in tournaments. His uncertain playing time makes him risky for cash games.

Mason Kinsey, TEN vs SEA

Shockingly, the Titans are one of the better stacking options for tournaments this weekend. Malik Willis will get the start and is expected to see at least a half of work. Tennessee has several receivers fighting for a roster spot with Mason Kinsey looking the sharpest in camp. You can also stack Jah’Quan Jackson with Kinsey and Willis for a tournament.

Drake Stoops, LAR at LAC

The Rams are one of the premier stacking options on this slate. Los Angeles tends to focus on a small number of receivers, and while it was Whittington last week, this week Drake Stoops and Xavier Smith should be in line for that work.

The son of former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops had three catches last weekend and looks to build upon that this weekend as he attempts to lock down a roster spot. Stoops should get easily convertible receptions as he plays inside and is more of a possession receiver than a downfield option while we like the Rams as a tournament stack, he makes sense as a stand-alone cash game play.

ALSO CONSIDER: Jalen Tolbert (DAL), Jalen Brooks (DAL), Xavier Smith (LAR), Jalen Guyton (LV), Rakeem Jarrett (TB), Elijah Cooks (JAX), Aesop Winston (SEA), Tyrell Shavers (BUF), Scotty Miller (PIT), Jah’Quan Jackson (TEN), Xavier Gipson (NYJ), Ladd McConkey (LAC)

Preseason NFL DFS Picks – Tight End

Ben Sinnott, WSH at MIA

Few tight ends looked better than Ben Sinnott last weekend. He had three catches for 57 yards, including a 44-yarder, which speaks to his big play ability. He should see plenty of snaps for the Commanders this weekend as he looks to find a role for himself this regular season. He is a top option for cash games and is in play for tournament lineups.

ALSO CONSIDER: Jelani Woods (IND), Will Mallory (IND), Luke Schoonmaker (DAL), Donald Parham (LAC), Brady Russell (SEA)

Thanks for checking this out, and good luck!
