NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (4/23/24)

Anthony Edwards - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Rankings, Injury News - rotoballer icon

Free daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Use Max Kulish's NBA DFS expert picks to building winning DFS lineups on April 23, 2024.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! Tonight we've got a triple-header of Game 2's, with all three home teams looking to take a 2-0 series lead. These articles focus on the overall best plays, which are typically more suited for cash games. However, some exceptions may apply, depending on the size of the slate.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/23/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:30 p.m. EDT on FanDuel and DraftKings. As always, feel free to follow my X/Twitter (@Maxadelphia) to keep up to date with NBA news and for my nightly NBA bets if you're into that sort of thing. Let's go!

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks

Luka Doncic sits $2.6K more expensive than the next player on the slate, and deciding if he's a part of your lineup will be the first decision to make tonight. After Luka, the next nine players are priced within a $1.5K range. That top 10 is all the star power on the slate, as there's a considerable drop-off after the top-10 players.

  1. Anthony Edwards, MIN vs. PHX – SG/SF ($8.9K DK; $9.8K FD)
  2. Luka Doncic, DAL at LAC – PG ($11.9K DK; $12.3K FD)
  3. Damian Lillard, MIL vs. IND – PG ($9.3K DK; $9.5K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks

With Giannis Antetokounmpo expected to miss Game 2 and Kawhi Leonard also looking unlikely to play, there are massive shoes to fill for the Bucks and Clippers. One other injury that would leave a large minutes gap would be Grayson Allen, who left Game 1 in the third quarter. Should Allen be ruled out, Royce O'Neale could jump from sixth man to starter.

Top Value Plays:

  1. Patrick Beverley, MIL vs. IND - PG/SG ($4.5K DK; $5.6K FD)
  2. Terance Mann, LAC vs. DAL - PG/SG ($4.1K DK; $5.3K FD)
  3. Royce O'Neale, PHX at MIN – SF/PF ($4K DK; $4.8K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

As I mentioned previously, the first step tonight when building a lineup is deciding if Luka is in that lineup or not. He has a ceiling no one else can rival, and even though he didn't play that well in Game 1, he still posted 61.75 fantasy points. If you decide to go cheaper, there are a few other stars that can potentially offer 90% of the production at 70% of the price.

Top PG Options:

  1. Luka Doncic, DAL at LAC ($11.9K DK; $12.3K FD)
  2. Damian Lillard, MIL vs. IND ($9.3K DK; $9.5K FD)
  3. James Harden, LAC vs. DAL ($8.2K DK; $8.7K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

Two of the best cheap plays tonight are playable at SG, making them a great complement to the single-eligibility star PGs tonight.

Top SG Options:

  1. Patrick Beverley, MIL vs. IND ($4.5K DK; $5.6K FD)
  2. Terance Mann, LAC vs. DAL ($4.1K DK; $5.3K FD)
  3. Kyrie Irving, DAL at LAC ($8.3K DK; $9.7K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

Anthony Edwards stands out as an exceptional play tonight. He posted 56.25 fantasy points while only playing 36 minutes in a game that the Timberwolves won by 25, a game that he didn't have to do much down the stretch. And after all of that, his price decreases by $100! SF is the deepest position on the slate tonight, so figure out what works best with your other "must-haves."

Top SF Options:

  1. Anthony Edwards, MIN vs. PHX – SG/SF ($8.9K DK; $9.8K FD)
  2. Khris Middleton, MIL vs. IND ($7.4K DK; $8.1.K FD)
  3. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, MIN vs. PHX ($4K DK; $5.1K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

For as deep as SF is, PF might be equally shallow. When scrolling the list of players, you get to the guys who are logging single-digit minutes fast. PF will be a very interesting position to fill in tournaments, but in cash games, it's probably best to prioritize other positions.

Top PF Options:

  1. Royce O'Neale, PHX at MIN ($4K DK; $4.8K FD)
  2. Pascal Siakam, IND at MIL ($7.8K DK; $8.3K FD)
  3. Amir Coffey, LAC vs. DAL ($3.9K DK; $4.3K FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center

Center is usually a position where you can spend up, but with the most expensive player listed at $7.5K, that's not really possible tonight. There are a bunch of solid midrange options tonight and most starters fit into stacks of their respective games, giving center multiple ways to approach the position.

Top C Options:

  1. Ivica Zubac, LAC vs. DAL ($5.8K DK; $7.1K FD)
  2. Bobby Portis, NO vs. LAL ($6.8K DK; $7.3K FD)

Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Pacers at Bucks (220.5 total)
  2. Mavericks at Clippers (216 total)
  3. Suns at Timberwolves (212 total)

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. Tyrese Haliburton was clearly the focal point of the Bucks defense in Game 1 and his stat line reflects that. He's my least favorite of the top tier of PGs.
  2. The Suns' big three did not look their best in Game 1. None of them stand out as a cash play, but knowing which player will bounce back the most could provide a huge leg up in a tournament.

My Favorite NBA DFS Picks for Today

Here is where I leave you with some of my favorites.

  • My favorite overall play on the slate: Anthony Edwards
  • My favorite CASH play on the slate: Luka Doncic
  • My favorite GPP play on the slate: Damian Lillard
  • My favorite value play: Patrick Beverley
