NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (2/27/24)

Anthony Edwards - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Rankings, Injury News - rotoballer icon

Free daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Use Max Kulish's NBA DFS expert picks to building winning DFS lineups on February 27th, 2024.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! Tonight we've got a nine-game slate headlined by a TNT doubleheader of Sixers at Celtics and Rockets at Thunder. These articles focus on the overall best plays, which are typically more suited for cash games. However, some exceptions may apply, depending on the size of the slate.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 2/27/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7 p.m. EST on FanDuel and DraftKings. As always, feel free to follow my X/Twitter (@Maxadelphia) to keep up to date with NBA news and for my nightly NBA bets if you're into that sort of thing. Let's go!

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks

Let's first take a look at our premium projections to see who we want to target for our top spend-ups tonight.

Tonight's slate is loaded with All-Stars, headlined by the two pricing outliers of Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, as we can see based on projections, four of the top six projected plays are PGs. What makes this slate interesting though, is that five of the nine games currently see the favored team with a double-digit point spread (and a sixth game is currently a nine-point spread) so avoiding blowouts will be the key to tonight's slate.

Tonight looks like a tough slate, especially for cash games. There aren't many major injuries, so value might be found by picking and choosing blowout spots. With 5-6 games projected to not be close by the final whistle, finding the players who could see extra playing time due to game script can enable you to build lineups that might not typically be possible.

The game that jumps out as an obvious target spot is Jazz at Hawks. This game has the second-highest implied total on the slate (237) and features only four players priced $6,500 or higher. In the wake of Trae Young's absence, Dejounte Murray projects as one of the best plays on the slate.

  1. Dejounte Murray, ATL vs UTA – PG ($8,900 DK; $8,900 FD)
  2. Victor Wembanyama, SAS @ MIN – PF/C ($9,900 DK; $10,700 FD)
  3. Anthony Edwards, MIN vs SAS – SG/SF ($9,000 DK; $9,700 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks

There aren't a ton of major injuries on the slate tonight, so we're going to have to dig a little deeper than usual to find our value plays. The other game that stands out from a pricing perspective for both sides is Pistons at Bulls. Cade Cunningham is the most expensive player in this game at only $8,100 on DK and $8,200 on FD. Ayo Dosunmu from the Bulls' side is currently on a nice stretch of games and has SG eligibility which can make him a nice pairing with your star PG of choice.

For the teams who are projected to lose by 10+ (Wizards, Sixers, Spurs, Hornets, Pistons) the Wizards and Hornets stick out in terms of playable options. The Wizards are dealing with some injuries to their bench, while the Hornets have five players priced $5,600 or lower who played 25+ minutes last game.

Two notable potential injury spots that haven't been cleared up as of the time of writing are Rudy Gobert and Paolo Banchero. If one/both of them end up ruled out that would make a few other value options like Moritz Wagner and Kyle Anderson.

Top Value Plays:

  1. Cody Martin, CHA at MIL – PG/SG ($5,000 DK; $5,500 FD)
  2. Ayo Dosunmu, CHI vs DET – PG/SG ($5,200 DK; $6,100 FD)
  3. Landry Shamet, WAS vs GSW – PG/SG ($4,200 DK; $4,600 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

PG is easily the most loaded position on the slate tonight. There are plenty of expensive and cheap options abound, but I'd be looking to pay up in cash games.

Top PG Options:

  1. Dejounte Murray, ATL vs UTA – PG ($8,900 DK; $8,900 FD)
  2. Jalen Brunson, NYK vs NO, ($9,600 DK; $9,500 FD)
  3. Steph Curry, GS @ WAS, ($9,500 DK; $9,200 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

What's the perfect thing to pair with an expensive PG? A cheap SG, of course! All of our top value plays are SG eligible tonight, so it feels like a natural fit. It's worth noting that prioritizing one of the top-priced SGs would be very contrarian, and is worth exploring in tournaments.

Top SG Options:

  1. Cody Martin, CHA at MIL – PG/SG ($5,000 DK; $5,500 FD)
  2. Ayo Dosunmu, CHI vs DET – PG/SG ($5,200 DK; $6,100 FD)
  3. Landry Shamet, WAS vs GSW – PG/SG ($4,200 DK; $4,600 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

SF has great options at all pricing levels, and tonight I'm planning on filling this position last. When building lineups it feels like there are more important decisions at other positions.

Top SF Options:

  1. Anthony Edwards, MIN vs SAS – SG/SF ($9,000 DK; $9,700 FD)
  2. De'Andre Hunter, ATL vs UTA ($5,300 DK; $6,100 FD)
  3. Pat Connaughton, MIL vs. CHA ($3,500 DK; $3,900 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

PF is very deep tonight, but both sites were very liberal with assigning PF eligibility to guys who are typically considered Centers. If Rudy Gobert does end up missing this game, Kyle Anderson might end up as one of the most popular plays on the slate.

Top PF Options:

  1. Victor Wembanyama, SAS @ MIN – PF/C ($9,900 DK; $10,700 FD)
  2. Taylor Hendricks, UTA @ ATL ($4,100 DK; $4,100 FD)
  3. Nikola Vucevic, CHI vs. DET ($7,800 DK; $8,100 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center

With so many of the top Centers having PF eligibility, it opens the door to spending down in the Center spot.

Top C Options:

  1. Bruno Fernando, ATL vs UTA ($3,800 DK; $4,600 FD)
  2. Nick Richards, CHA @ MIL ($5,600 DK; $10,700 FD)
  3. Kristaps Porzingis, BOS vs PHI ($7,500 DK; $8,400 FD)

Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Jazz at Hawks (236.5 total)
  2. Warriors at Wizards (242.5 total)
  3. Spurs at Timberwolves (225.5 total)

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. Bucks stars are a pass for me, these teams played on 2/9 and the Bucks won by 36.
  2. Magic at Nets feels like the game most likely to end up with the lowest scoring on the slate. The Nets are on the second leg of back-to-back road games and have had four straight games where one team has scored under 100 points.
  3. Sixers at Celtics and Pistons at Bulls both project to be lower-owned comparatively to their implied totals (231.5 and 225.5).

My Favorite NBA DFS Picks for Today

Here is where I leave you with some of my favorites.

  • My favorite overall play on the slate: Victor Wembanyama
  • My favorite CASH play on the slate: Dejounte Murray
  • My favorite GPP play on the slate: Anthony Edwards
  • My favorite value play: Cody Martin
