NBA DFS Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Mavericks vs Lakers Wednesday Night Showdown

luka doncic NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

Koby's top NBA DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings - Mavericks vs. Lakers showdown slate on 11/22/2023. His Wednesday Night NBA showdown advice.

Happy Wednesday, RotoBallers! Welcome back to our weekly showdown. Last week, we ended up doing pretty well and if you were in our premium discord you got my lineups that cashed on FD. DK we missed by a little bit but getting a much-needed cash on FD was a good way to get back on track this season. With Thanksgiving coming up on Thursday we get a fully loaded slate of NBA on this wonderful Wednesday evening that is capped off with a Mavericks vs. Lakers that should be quite the battle. Luka Doncic has been nothing but dominant so far this year and at 38 years old LeBron is still doing LeBron things. This is going to be a tough slate with it being so top-heavy so let's see where we can get some value.

I absolutely love playing the NBA showdowns daily, it has become one of my favorite forms of DFS. There is nothing more thrilling than having a lineup consisting of players from one game and sweating it out while watching it live. There is a lot less room for error though with there being fewer options to choose from. Hopefully, with all the advanced stats I will be able to bring you the best analysis possible and get you some extra cash for the weekend ahead. So strap in as the season is just beginning and we will be here all year long.

I will be providing you with daily fantasy basketball picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Mavericks vs. Lakers NBA DFS showdown slate on November 22. These NBA DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. If you have any questions, you can follow me on Twitter/X @DFSKoby and please feel free to ask any questions about upcoming slates as I'm happy to answer any DMs or in our Rotoballer Discord!

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! MVP/Captain Plays

Luka Doncic - PG, $18,600 (DK), $17,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Avg. Season Stats: 30.6 points, 8.1 assists, 8.0 rebounds with 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks a game

I don't think I have to go over this one too much but who else other than Luka himself? Yes, he is expensive but he is going to be a must-have and the only way he doesn't end up being one of the top players on this slate is if the Lakers blow them out of the water. Luka is averaging 52.6 Fantasy points a game this season and is clearly the top option from a solid Dallas team. The Lakers also allow the 11th most fantasy points to PGs this season which makes Luka and also possibly Kyrie Irving an interesting option. Luka will be one of the highest-owned players on the slate and I would only recommend fading him if you are a multi-lineup player or live on the edge.

Anthony Davis- PF/C, $16,200 (DK), $16,000 (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2023 Avg. Season Stats: 22.0 points, 3.3 assists, 11.7 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 3.3 blocks a game

Anthony Davis is in a prime spot for a monster game. He has been playing out of his mind this season and hopefully, this continues throughout the season without injury. He has averaged 51.5 Fantasy points per game this season and the thing I like about him the most is the amount of blocks and steals he's been averaging this year at a combined 4.2 STOCKS! The best part about this matchup is Dallas is giving up the fifth most fantasy points to centers this year. On DK especially I like the extra money that we save from putting him in the captain spot vs. Luka. They are nearly averaging the same amount this season and we also might get him at slightly lower ownership in the Captain/MVP spot compared to Luka.

Other Captains/MVPs: LeBron James

DFS Flex Plays

Austin Reaves - SG, $7,000 (DK), $11,000 (FD)

Austin Reaves does a little bit of everything which makes him an intriguing piece in lineups tonight. He has had 28 Fantasy points or better in eight of his last ten games and one of those games was an outlier where he only played 18 minutes in a blowout against Portland. Austin Reaves runs the bench and they will need every bit of his game to make sure this game stays in L.A.'s favor. Dallas's bench has also been allowing the likes of Malik Monk and Pat Connaughton to shoot at will over the last two games. Austin Reaves is better than both of those guys and should be able to get whatever he likes en route to another 30+ fantasy performance.

Tim Hardaway Jr. - SF/PF, $6,400 (DK), $9,500 (FD)

Besides Luka and Kyrie. THJ has been one of the few Mavericks players I can trust enough to roster. As long as he gets his shot going he can have an incredible night. It's when that shot isn't dropping that leads to a poor outing. He's averaged 18 PPG this season and has only had one game that wasn't in double digits. I wish he did more while on the court like getting rebounds and assists but the man is a pure shooter. That being said if that three-ball is falling we could be in for a solid scoring night from THJ. His price makes for the perfect flex play to round out some lineups.

Other Flex Options: D'Angelo Russell

DFS Value Plays

Christian Wood- PF, $6,800 (DK), $7,500 (FD)

It is on the high side of value on DK but I like the price on FD. Wood has had an up-and-down year so far but with Cam Reddish going down with a possible groin injury, there is a chance they rest him on the second night of a back-to-back. This could lead to Wood getting extended minutes which is exactly what he needs to get going. In his 27 minutes tonight, he had 16 points and eight rebounds. Like I said before with AD, PF/Cs are doing extremely well against a small Dallas team. This is a smash spot if Wood gets the minutes, that being said if Cam Reddish is back in the lineup tomorrow it makes it a bit tough to play Wood, so keep that in mind while watching injury news tomorrow.

Dante Exum- PG, $3,000 (DK), $6,500 (FD)

I didn't think I would ever be seeing this name again let alone possibly playing him in fantasy! When I say this is for the deepest of GPPs, I mean it. At this price, we don't need much from him and if we get about 15 FP from him I will consider it a win. We save so much money playing Dante Exum that we can get another stud in the lineup on DK. At a measly $3,000, I will gladly take a shot on him. He seems to have carved himself a decent bench role as he has averaged close to 15 minutes a game while averaging 15 fantasy points a game in that time. My only worry with this play is that Seth Curry might be coming back which could dig into that role a bit. Be super cautious when taking Dante!

Other Value Plays: Grant Williams, Derrick Jones Jr.

Have a great night and let's make some cash!
