MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Expert Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks For Today (4/6/25)

Grant Holmes - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Andy's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Sunday, 4/6/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! The MLB regular season is in full swing, and we have another full slate of DFS action to break down. Today, we will look at a jam-packed Sunday slate on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

There are several games on this slate that we will emphasize that have a high projected run total. For example, the clash between the Pirates and Yankees carried a hefty 9.0 O/U run-mark. In addition, there are some matchups we will try to avoid (from a hitting perspective), like a potential pitcher's duel between Tyler Glasnow and Cristopher Sanchez.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/6/2025, with the slate starting at 1:35 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Grant Holmes vs. MIA ($9.2K DraftKings; $6.8K FanDuel)

Grant Holmes had a problematic season debut, but he is poised to bounce back in a favorable matchup against the Miami Marlins. In his first start of the season, he faced the potent Los Angeles Dodgers and allowed four runs in four innings. However, in spring training, Holmes was dominant, tossing 15 1/3 innings to a 1.76 ERA.

This afternoon, he will face the Miami Marlins, who have posted the sixth-highest strikeout rate when facing right-handed pitchers. They have also generated the third-lowest Isolated Power (ISO).

Corbin Burnes vs. WSH ($6.8K DraftKings; $9.9K FanDuel)

My other pitcher is a much safer target in proven ace, Corbin Burnes. Burnes also had a tough debut but faced one of the hottest lineups in the sport, the New York Yankees. During the final month of the 2024 campaign, Burnes was able to modify his cutter to generate more whiffs. This month, he struck out 31 batters in 30 innings with a 0.93 WHIP.

I expect Burnes to enjoy similar success facing the Nationals, who have posted the fourth-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.

Also consider: Jackson Jobe vs. CHW ($7.5K DraftKings; $8.8K FanDuel), Kris Bubic vs. BAL ($8.7K DraftKings; $8.1K FanDuel)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Paul Goldschmidt - 1B, NYY vs. Andrew Heaney ($4.3K DK; $3.2K FD)

Paul Goldschmidt has enjoyed a fantastic start to his Yankee tenure, posting a strong .296/.367/.444 line with one home run across his first eight games. He has a great matchup this afternoon facing Andrew Heaney, who struggles to throw his fastball. This season, Goldschmidt has hit his lone long ball against a fastball from a southpaw (Nestor Cortes).

He has generated an overall .814 xSLG against this pitch. Heaney's fastball generated a .453 xSLG in his first start in 2025 and a similar .427 xSLG in 2024.

Oneil Cruz - SS, PIT vs. Will Warren ($4.9K DK; $3.9K FD)

Oneil Cruz has been one of the lone productive options in the Pittsburgh lineup. Cruz has gone deep twice and swiped seven bags while posting a .483 SLG across nine games.

He will have a favorable matchup this afternoon, facing right-handed pitcher Will Warren. Last season against right-handed pitching, Cruz posted a strong .271/.344/.460 line with 15 of his 21 home runs.

Eugenio Suarez– 3B, ARI vs. Brad Lord ($5K DK; $3.8K FD)

Eugenio Suarez has enjoyed an incredible start to the campaign, launching five home runs across his first nine games. During this torrid stretch, he has generated a .559 xwOBA, which should play well against Washington's projected starter, Brad Lord.

Lord is expected to pitch for the injured Michael Soroka (biceps). Reports this week suggested that Lord would likely get the nod if he were not deployed out of the bullpen on Friday or Saturday, which he was not.

Lorda relies primarily on two pitches, a fastball and a sinker. While his fastball has had success in his brief taste in the majors, his sinker has not. His sinker has generated a high .563 xwOBA, which should set Suarez up for success as he has generated an incredible .756 xSLG against sinkers from right-handers this season.

Update: Trevor Williams will start for Washington. Suarez remains a top play.

Also consider: Dansby Swanson (CHC), Spencer Torkelson (DET)

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Seiya Suzuki - OF, CHC vs. Kyle Hart ($5K DK; $3.4K FD)

Kyle Hart has only logged 16 innings in the majors, and he has not found much success, posting a hefty 11.81 ERA. Most of his damage came on his sinker, generating an overall .572 xwOBA.

Suzuki has performed very well against sinkers this season, generating a .792 xSLG with an impressive 62.5 percent hard-hit rate. Last season, he generated a strong .430 xwOBA against this pitch.

Pavin Smith - OF, ARI vs. Brad Lord ($5.9K DK; $2.7K FD)

Pavin Smith is in a strict platoon role in the desert and should continue to find success, given that he is only deployed in favorable settings. Against right-handed pitching last summer, Smith posted an elite .282/.356/.564 line with eight long balls.

Smith generated an eye-catching .799 xSLG against sinkers last season, which should play well against Brad Lord.

Update: Trevor Williams will start for Washington. Smith remains a top play.

Riley Greene - OF, DET vs. Martin Perez ($4K DK; $3.4K FD)

Martin Perez enjoyed an impressive debut but should take a step back on Sunday afternoon. Last season, Perez posted a modest 4.53 ERA with a 1.48 WHIP across 135 innings of work. His primary pitch, his cutter, generated a .435 xSLG and whiffs at a low 9.7 percent rate.

Last season, Riley Greene mashed cutters from left-handed pitching and generated a stellar 50.0 percent hard-hit rate with a .542 xSLG. He has already enjoyed an impressive start to the season, holding a .361 AVG with a .722 SLG.

Also consider: Aaron Judge (NYY), Kyle Tucker (CHC), TJ Friedl (CIN), Yordan Alvarez (HOU)

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Yankees vs. Andrew Heaney

The Yankees have been one of the most productive lineups in the sport during the opening weeks of the campaign, and they will be a popular chalk play this afternoon. Heaney has struggled to throw his fastball throughout his career, which should set him up for trouble against a power-hitting Yankee lineup.

In Heaney's first start of the season, he generated a low 41.2 percent ground-ball rate and a high 4.84 xERA.

Fave combo - Goldschmidt, Judge, Chisholm, Volpe

2. Diamondbacks vs. Brad Lord

Brad Lord has logged just two innings of work in the major leagues. While the Nationals will likely rely on a bullpen game, with Soroka sidelined, Lord is expected to see sizeable work in this game.

His sinker did not perform well in his first three outings of the season, generating a high .677 xSLG with a .563 xwOBA. He did not enjoy much success at Triple-A last season as well, posting a 3.93 ERA with a high 1.38 WHIP.

As a team, the Diamondbacks have generated the third-highest ISO against right-handers this season.

Fave combo - Smith, Suarez, Naylor, Carroll

Update: Trevor Williams will start for Washington. The Diamondbacks remain an elite stack option.

3. Cubs vs. Kyle Hart

Given that Kyle Hart has only logged 16 innings in the majors (and has not found success), he is a great pitcher to target. As a team, the Cubs have posted the fourth-highest ISO and the sixth-highest wRC+ against southpaws this season.

The Cubs enter this game on a five-game winning streak and have relied heavily on their offense during this stretch.

Fave Combo - Suzuki, Swanson, Tucker, Hoerner
