MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/6/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Mark Vientos - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Free daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings, FanDuel. Use Kevin's MLB DFS expert picks to build winning DFS lineups on October 6, 2024.

Happy Sunday, RotoBallers! We are underway with postseason baseball, and today features two crucial Division Series matchups. With every team operating under a do-or-die mentality, lineup decisions carry added weight, so stay on your toes today!

With only two games on this slate, we must be creative with our lineup decisions. Don't be afraid to roster a hitter against a pitcher in the same build. Consider the increased pinch-hitting risk surrounding certain players. I'll point out the standout plays, but there will be plenty of opportunities to get creative today.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/6/2024 and the slate locking at 4:08 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jack Flaherty vs. San Diego Padres ($8.4K DK, $9.8K FD)

It's reasonably difficult to separate the best pitching option on this slate from the four available arms. That said, we are chasing the ceiling here, and Jack Flaherty excels in that regard. He posted a strong 3.51 xERA and a 3.00 xFIP this season. Flaherty's success is underscored by a 29.9% strikeout rate, alongside a 30.7% chase rate and a 32.1% whiff rate.

Luis Severino vs. Philadelphia Phillies ($7.2K DK, $8.7K FD)

Luis Severino is debatably the worst pitcher on this slate, but he also might have the longest leash. The New York Mets have played nine games in the last nine days and may be incentivized to get some length out of him today.

Severino surrendered four runs during his Wild Card round appearance yet still completed six innings in a must-win game. Also, it's not as if Severino isn't a capable arm, posting a solid 3.88 xERA across 31 appearances this season.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Shohei Ohtani - 1B/OF, LAD vs. Yu Darvish ($6.5K DK, $5K FD)

Rostering Shohei Ohtani is an expensive proposition, but there is no better hitter on the planet right now. He generated a .310/.390/.646 slash line this season with 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases. Ohtani is very likely to put up a fantasy score that you need to have.

Mark Vientos - 3B, NYM vs. Cristopher Sanchez ($4K DK, $3.3K FD)

Mark Vientos has emerged as one of the most consequential hitters in the New York Mets lineup. His breakout campaign included a .822 OPS with 27 home runs and a 133 wRC+. That success consists of a .475 xSLG, 14.1% barrel rate, and a 46.6% hard-hit rate. Vientos feels like a strong value at this price point.

Donovan Solano - 1B, SD vs. Jack Flaherty  ($2.6K DK, $2.5K FD)

Donovan Solano is going to be one of the only ways to fill out a roster spot for under $3K today. Despite being deployed almost exclusively against left-handed pitching during the regular season, he has been in the lineup for each postseason game thus far. Solano isn't a flashy play but he did manage a respectable .760 OPS and 118 wRC+.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle Schwarber - OF, PHI vs. Luis Severino ($5.6K DK, $4K FD)

Kyle Schwarber is very live for a home run today. He finished the regular season with a red-hot performance in September, swatting 10 home runs with a 1.013 OPS and a 172 wRC+. Schwarber carried over that momentum by homering in his first at-bat of the postseason yesterday. Further, left-handed hitters slugged .440 against Luis Severino in 2024.

Mookie Betts - OF, LAD vs. Yu Darvish  ($5.2K DK, $3.9K FD)

Mookie Betts has not been in his best form lately, but this price tag is just too low for his ability. Despite missing a decent chunk of the season with an injury, Betts finished with an impressive .863 OPS and 141 wRC+. Additionally, Yu Darvish has been moderately worse against right-handed hitters, surrendering a .417 slugging percentage this season.

J.D. Martinez - OF, NYM vs. Cristopher Sanchez ($3.3K DK, $2.9K FD)

If this price tag feels too cheap for J.D. Martinez, it's because it is too cheap. The results this season were disappointing for Martinez, but the underlying metrics suggest he was deserving of much better outcomes. Martinez generated a .484 xSLG, 14.9% barrel rate, and a .356 xwOBA. He is debatably the best value on this slate.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Yu Darvish

2. New York Mets vs. Cristopher Sanchez
