Max Meyer is a fantasy baseball waiver wire stash for Week 9 (2024). Target Max Meyer as a top prospect free-agent waiver wire pickup for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Stash in Deeper Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: July
ANALYSIS: Miami Marlins starting pitching prospect Max Meyer opened the season with the major league roster but was sent down to Triple-A after making three starts to manage his workload, especially after recovering from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in 2022. However, due to his high level of play, he should be expected to rejoin the major league roster later this summer.
Max Meyer's performance in his three starts with Miami this season has been nothing short of impressive. He posted a 2.12 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and a 14:3 K:BB ratio, pitching six innings in two of these starts.

However, with Triple-A this season, the 25-year-old has not been as successful, with a 7.56 ERA and 1.68 WHIP. In addition, through these outings, he has never pitched more than four innings.
Meyer is not only one of the best prospects in the Miami pipeline but in all of baseball. The Marlins are being very patient and clearly placing a hard innings limit on him.
Nonetheless, Meyer should be expected to rejoin the major league roster later this summer and is worth holding onto in deeper leagues.
