Malik Beasley is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 17 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: Malik Beasley's appeal has gone down a bit after he had a couple of impressive months to start the season in Utah as the main off-the-pine heater. He averaged around 24 FPPG from October 19 to December 19 and he's now at 22 FPPG in the past month and a half (20 games through Friday).
Beasley started eight consecutive games from January 10 since the second-to-last game he played last month. The usage in those matchups cratered down below the average 20 percent, but when he's part of the second unit, it goes above 20 percent as one would expect.
In the last eight games, Beasley has scored 11.5 PPG, hitting exactly three 3PM per game in that span. Yes, that means that Beasley is basically a long-range shooter with not many other contributions when it comes to shooting the rock. The percentages are always low from the field because he's adept at stretching things. But the man has scored 3+ 3PM in eight of his last 10 games played so it's not that we can complain that much.
The contributions in all other cats are limited, mind you, with the highest average on any front being his 3.4 RPG in the last 10 outings. Other than that, Beasley doesn't provide that much. It's down to points, three-point shots, and fewer than 2.0 APG.
