Juan Yepez is a top fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 18 (2024). Fantasy baseball managers should add Yepez as a waiver wire free agent in all leagues.
ANALYSIS: Washington Nationals first baseman/outfielder Juan Yepez has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball and is worth adding in all standard formats.
Since joining the major league roster on July 5, the 26-year-old has tallied at least one hit in his first 11 games. During this incredible stretch, he has held a .390/.468/.610 slash line with one home run, six RBI, one stolen base, and a 6:7 BB:K ratio.
Yepez was promoted to replace Joey Meneses who was optioned to Triple-A after posting a disappointing .231/.291/.302 line with just three home runs and 42 RBI across 76 games. Yepez is now clearly cementing himself as the everyday first baseman in Washington.
In addition, Yepez has begun to climb up the Washington batting order and has been placed in the cleanup spot and the five-hole over the past two games after starting in the bottom of the order which will provide him even more scoring opportunities.
