ANALYSIS: As painful as it must have been for Nationals fans to bid adieu to both Max Scherzer and Trea Turner at the deadline, they should be thrilled to have Josiah Gray in the fold. The rookie hurler has been excellent since arriving in the nation's capital, with tidy ratios (2.86 ERA, 1.05 WHIP) and 22 strikeouts in as many innings across four starts. The last two have qualified as quality starts against top-10 offenses, and the one before that was a five-inning, 10 K gem. He's got to get the homers under control (11 in his 30 MLB innings to date) but the talent is obvious.
While Gray is still looking for his first win, he'll have a great shot with his next turn coming against the last-place Marlins.
