ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) enters Thursday's game carrying a questionable tag due to a shoulder injury. Waddle opened this week as a full participant but popped up in the injury report on Tuesday. He logged two straight limited sessions, which resulted in his carrying the designation.
However, seeing that he was still able to practice in a limited capacity, he should be in a good position to suit up on Thursday when they face the Buffalo Bills. Waddle was also dealing with this shoulder injury heading into Week 2, but it did not seem to hinder his performance.
In Week 1, Waddle caught four of his five targets for a mere 30 yards. However, in Week 2, Waddle caught five of his six targets for a solid 68 yards and a score. In the season opener, the entire Miami offense struggled, but they took a significant step forward in Week 2, which is an excellent sign for Waddle's outlook.
Even though he could be limited due to this injury, facing a Buffalo secondary that allowed 40 points to the Ravens in Week 1 should provide Waddle a prime opportunity to produce WR3/FLEX numbers. He should be viewed as a strong FLEX option in all standard 12-team leagues as the Dolphins will likely need to push the ball downfield to keep up with a potent Buffalo offense.
