Brock Bowers Fantasy Football Injury Update
The Raiders’ 2024 first-round pick enters Monday night with a questionable tag. Brock Bowers missed the first two practices of the week but returned Saturday in a limited fashion. While some speculated he tweaked his right knee in Week 1, Bowers showed up to practice with a sleeve on his left knee, which landed hard on the ground, the same play he limped off.

Early signs point to a possible low-grade PCL injury, similar to what Christian McCaffrey and Puka Nacua dealt with last season. This type of injury takes around 10-14 days to recover from, making it challenging for Bowers to suit up eight days after the injury.
Despite that, head coach Pete Carroll said after Saturday’s practice that “he looked terrific, and is expected to play.” If active, Bowers remains a must-start in all fantasy formats, but it would be risky for the Raiders to risk further injury if Bowers were still banged up.
The consensus from the Twitter docs is that Brock Bowers will be out a couple weeks with a PCL sprain (hopefully mild). Of note, do not trust Pete Carroll quotes with injuries ever.

Still, managers should prepare for the possibility that he’s limited or ruled out late. If Bowers sits, Michael Mayer would see a major bump in usage. For those without Mayer available, Chargers tight end Will Dissly is a viable pivot after leading the team’s tight ends in both snaps and routes during Week 1.
Brock Bowers Fantasy Football Injury Impact
Bowers opened his second season with a bang against the Patriots, hauling in five of eight targets for 103 yards despite exiting midway through the third quarter. His performance was good enough to lead all tight ends in half-PPR scoring for Week 1, while his quarterback ranked second in the NFL in passing yards (362) and posted the NFL’s second-highest average depth of target (10.6).

Still, the concerns about Bowers’ usage under offensive coordinator Chip Kelly proved to be valid. He logged just 71% of the snaps through three quarters, with the Raiders running 3-WR sets on 76% of plays. That rotation with Michael Mayer caps his weekly ceiling and may lead to volatility.
Looking ahead, Bowers draws a tough Monday night matchup with the Chargers, who allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points to tight ends in 2024. In two meetings last year, he averaged only 54 yards per game against L.A., well below his season average of 70.2.
If active, Bowers remains a must-start thanks to his big-play ability, but fantasy managers should temper expectations given his knee injury, limited snap share, and difficult matchup.
