MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Cristian Javier  OVER 4.5 strikeouts thrown (-122 FanDuel Sportsbook)

Javier has thrown at least five strikeouts in 10 of his 12 starts, making this prop and price particularly stand out. The talented right-hander has also been at his best missing bats on the road, where he has a 10.0 K/9 across 36 innings.

The Guardians have been far from easy to strike out, posting just an 18.4 percent strikeout rate against righties at home in the last month. However, Javier's 13.4 percent swinging strike rate and the low bar needed to cash this prop makes it worth taking a run at.

Austin Gomber OVER 5.5  hits allowed (-135 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Gomber has encountered a heap of trouble at his Coors Field home park this season, pitching to an 8.64 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 2.4 HR/9 there across 33.1 innings. He's yielded a .324 average in that split as well, the byproduct of conceding 44 hits over that span.

The opposing Padres haven't lived up to the reputation of their star-studded lineup overall this season, but San Diego certainly has the talent to thrive in a setting like Coors and against a struggling southpaw. Gomber has allowed at least six hits in six of his 12 starts, with four of those instances coming at home.

The Friars should roll out a righty-heavy lineup that includes fearsome bats such as Xander Bogaerts, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado, plus a lefty slugger in Juan Soto that's capable of succeeding in same-handed matchups.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Manny Machado OVER 2.5 Hits + RBI + Runs  (-125 DraftKings SportsBook)

Speaking of Machado, the veteran has pounded southpaws for a .388 average and .905 OPS across 53 plate appearances this season. Moreover, Machado owns a .272 average and .840 OPS against lefties in a much larger sample of 400 PAs dating back to the start of the 2021 season.

Interestingly, Machado owns only a .191 average against Gomber in 24 career encounters, but he's struck out just once in that sample. That naturally means he's made plenty of contact and has undoubtedly run into some bad luck when doing so. Gomber is also ripe for the picking, considering he's pitched to a .331 average and .431 wOBA against right-handed hitters at home.

Machado has plenty of talent both ahead and behind him in the lineup, which should give him ample opportunity to cash this prop in a game where the Padres have a robust projected total of 6.6 runs as of early Friday.

Freddie Freeman OVER 1.5 Total Bases  (+110 DraftKings SportsBook)

The lefty-swinging Freeman has always been unfazed by same-handed matchups, and he owns a .308 average and 1.019 OPS in that split this season across a sample of 85 plate appearances.

Phillies starter Ranger Suarez has already been rocked for a 5.47 ERA and 1.54 WHIP and sports a middling 18.3 percent strikeout rate. He's been tough on left-handed hitters but over a small sample of 21 batters, while Freeman has gotten to him for a .400 average over 13 career encounters.

Freeman has a .313 average and .959 OPS on the road as well, and he already has 140 total bases in just 62 games.

Bryce Harper OVER 1.5 Hits (+195 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Harper comes into Friday wielding a hot bat, having posted a .316 average over his last five games. The perennial All-Star is once again thriving in opposite-handed matchups, lighting up right-handed pitching for a .373 average and 1.070 OPS through 84 plate appearances.

He has an inviting target Friday in young Dodgers starter Michael Grove, who has an 0-2 record, 8.14 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 1.7 HR/9 across his first five starts. Grove has also surrendered an unbelievable .524 average and .589 wOBA to the 24 lefty bats he's faced on the road, and Harper has already produced 11 multi-hit efforts in 30 games this season.
