Fantasy Football Sunday Injury Report: Updates for Christian McCaffrey, Trevor Lawrence, Ladd McConkey, And More

Christian McCaffrey - Fantasy Football Rankings, DFS and Betting Picks, NFL Injury News

Fantasy football injury updates and injury reports for RB, WR, TE, as of 12/2/2024, including Christian McCaffrey, Trevor Lawrence, Ladd McConkey, And More

It was slow going on the injury front again this Sunday. It’s a lot easier to write this column every week when there aren’t numerous serious injuries to report.

All in all, we escaped Week 13 relatively clean. Most of the injuries have very little fantasy implications. However, there was one big-name player who went down. Let’s not waste any time and get you caught up on Sunday’s biggest injury news.

Make sure you follow RotoBaller on X and check out RotoBaller.com for all your fantasy football needs. Let’s dive into all the major injuries from Week 13.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Christian McCaffrey - RB, San Francisco 49ers

We’re not burying the lede here. Christian McCaffrey was off to a hot start in last night’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Sadly, he suffered a knee injury and was unable to return to the game.

As of now, we don’t know much about the severity of this injury, but we should know more in the coming hours. With the 49ers sitting at 5-7 and their season slipping away, the team may opt to shut down McCaffrey for the year if his injury requires an extended absence.

This is a tough break for gamers who waited patiently for months for the All-Pro running back to return from bilateral Achilles' tendonitis. To lose him on the cusp of the fantasy playoffs feels like the ultimate tease.

RotoBaller will keep you updated on McCaffrey’s health once we have more information, but it would behoove gamers to plan on being without McCaffrey for Week 14. Hopefully, we get a positive update later today.

Trevor Lawrence - QB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence returned yesterday after missing several games with an A/C joint sprain. Unfortunately, he suffered a concussion on a nasty hit and was forced to leave the game.

He was carted off the field and would quickly be ruled out. This was a scary scene and a melee ensued soon after the hit. Lawrence is said to be okay and that’s good to see.

We will know more about his status later in the week, but it would be wise for gamers to expect Lawrence to miss Week 14. Mac Jones will start if Lawrence does miss time. Jones would be a downgrade for Brian Thomas Jr., Evan Engram, and all other Jaguars’ skill players.

Bucky Irving - RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bucky Irving injured his hip in yesterday’s win over the Carolina Panthers.

Fortunately, Irving returned to the game, and boy, were his fantasy managers pleased he did. The rookie back would have a career day and ran for 152 yards and a score on the ground. It was a huge day for the former Oregon Duck and likely cemented his place atop Tampa Bay’s depth chart.

Irving’s hip injury doesn’t seem like anything too serious and didn’t seem to affect his play. Still, make sure you monitor the RotoBaller newsfeed throughout the week just in case his injury worsens over the next few days.

Ladd McConkey - WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Ladd McConkey had a solid effort in yesterday’s victory over the Atlanta Falcons. He caught nine passes for 117 yards on a team-high 12 targets. Unfortunately, he also suffered a knee injury.

We don’t know much about McConkey’s injury at this time. Chargers’ coach Jim Harbaugh is notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to injuries. However, this injury was severe enough that it kept McConkey out of the game in the fourth quarter. Hopefully, we get an update on his status later today or tomorrow.

Gamers should make plans to be without him for their pivotal Week 14 matchups. Let’s hope it doesn’t come down to that, but better to be safe than sorry.

Baker Mayfield - QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay’s QB1 Baker Mayfield was forced to leave last night's game with an ankle injury.

Fortunately for fantasy owners and Buccaneers fans, Mayfield only missed a few plays and would re-enter the game. He helped lead the team to an overtime victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Mayfield should be fine moving forward, but keep an eye on this situation just to make sure.

Taysom Hill - TE, New Orleans Saints

Taysom Hill was forced to leave yesterday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams with a knee injury.

This looked like a serious injury, and Hill was eventually carted off the field. Gamers should brace for the worst when it comes to Hill’s status. It's a shame as he had been a nice streaming option at the tight end position thanks to his output on the ground.

We should more about the severity of this injury later today as he is set to undergo further testing, but the outlook is grim.

Hunter Henry - TE, New England Patriots

Hunter Henry was evaluated for a concussion after taking a shot to the head in yesterday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

He would clear concussion protocol and return to the game. Henry should be fine moving forward.

The ninth-year tight end has been a viable streaming option and is currently the PPR TE7 on the year. Henry is on bye in Week 14, but will again be on the streaming radar when he returns for a Week 15 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Gamers should still monitor his status just in case he experiences any delayed concussion symptoms.

Rashod Bateman - WR, Baltimore Ravens

Rashod Bateman has enjoyed a career-best season in 2024. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury in last night’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and couldn’t return to the field.

Bateman has struggled with injuries in his career. It looked as though he had finally overcome them this season, but the injury bug reared its ugly head again yesterday. We don’t know much about the severity of the injury at this time, but Ravens head coach John Harbaugh stated that Bateman’s knee was sore enough that it prevented him from re-entering the game.

We should get an update relatively soon. Should he miss any time, it would mean an uptick in targets for Zay Flowers and could mean tight end Mark Andrews re-emerges as a more reliable option at the tight end position.

Noah Brown - WR, Washington Commanders

Noah Brown suffered a rib injury in yesterday’s blowout victory over the Tennessee Titans. Washington has a bye in Week 14, so we may not know the full severity of this injury until Washington returns to play in Week 15.

Brown hasn’t really been on the fantasy radar outside of a bye-week fill-in and a deep league streaming option. This injury ultimately may not have much impact outside of deeper redraft and dynasty leagues. Even still, we should know more about Brown’s injury following Washington’s bye.
