Fantasy College Football CFB Rankings: NCAA Top 10 (9/19/16)

14946594282_cff545ff57_z

Comebacks and close calls were all the rage in Week 3, leading to some tumult in the Top 25 in college football.

Only a few changes to our Top 10, though. Either we know how to pick 'em or we're just lucky.

Below are our CFB rankings after Week 3, from our usual fantasy perspective (won-loss records in parentheses).

NCAA College Football (CBB) Rankings

1. Alabama, 3-0

As Steely Dan once sang, "They call Alabama the Crimson Tide..." Well, call Ole Miss "Beaten Blue." The unfortunately named Rebels (the South will not rise again) have blown two 20-point leads already in this young season. Sophomore running back Damien Harris (144 yards, TD) carried the load this time for the Tide. Though frosh QB Jalen Hurts was a bit erratic in the pocket, he did add 146 yards on the ground--for more than 300 total yards on the day.

2. Clemson, 3-0

The Tigers' route of South Carolina State was so bad they instituted Pop Warner rules in the second half (playing two, 12-minute quarters). Hard to gauge Clemson based on this one, but we won't punish them for it.

3. Ohio State, 3-0

It looks like we may have been wrong about Oklahoma (the Sooners made our preseason Top 10, you may recall) but, regardless it takes a good team to go into Norman and put up 45 points. Buckeyes QB J.T. Barrett (226 total yards, four TDs) helped the Buckeyes do just that.

4. Michigan, 3-0

We're not sure what's going on with Colorado... but Jim Harbaugh has the Wolverines playing well. We still feel that UM will fade once it hits the meat of its Big Ten schedule, though.

5. Houston, 3-0

Cincinnati isn't, well, Tuscaloosa, but the Cougars won going away in a hostile environment on Thursday night. We can't say enough about Greg Ward Jr. (399 total yards, three TDs).

6. Stanford, 2-0

This just in: USC isn't very good. But Cardinal running back Christian McCaffrey is. He finished with 165 yards on the ground and 73 receiving yards, with two TDs. Coach David Shaw has tweaked the offense to get his Heisman hopeful more touches. Look out.

7. Louisville, 3-0

Speaking of Heisman hopefuls, we can't keep overlooking the Cardinals sophomore QB Lamar Jackson. He put up 363 total yards against Florida State on Saturday, and coach Bobby Petrino's team has scored more than 60 in each of its first three games.

8. Washington, 3-0

Four more TDs for QB Jake Browning. That's about all you can say about the Huskies' win over Portland State. We like coach Chris Peterson's team, but will they hold up once the Pac-12 schedule starts?

9. Boise State, 2-0

The Broncos were off this week. Their game at Oregon State this Saturday will likely determine whether they will remain in our Top 10 the rest of the way.

10. Florida State, 2-1

Is Louisville that good? Are the Seminoles that bad? Does coach Jimbo Fisher make a change at QB? And where is RB Dalvin Cook?
