Fantasy Basketball Category Streamers for Week 24: Damian Jones, Dwight Powell, De'Anthony Melton, Killian Hayes

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Week 24 fantasy basketball streamers based on H2H 9-category leagues for the 2021-2022 NBA season. Keith Cork recommends guards, forwards, and centers to target through waivers or free agency in fantasy leagues who may help in specific categories.

Your season should have ended by now, but if you're in one of those leagues that goes to the bitter end, here we go! I'll try my best to make sense of all the madness that is the NBA in its final month.

Let's see how our top picks last week fared: Terry Taylor (FG%, 10th-round total value), Dwight Powell (FT%, fifth-round value), Tre Mann (PTS,/3PTM, unranked womp womp), Trey Lyles (REBS, 12th-round value), Tyus Jones (ASTS, ninth-round value), Matisse Thybulle (STLS, fourth-round value), Onyeka Okongwu (BLKS, 10th-round value). Six out of seven of these guys were absolute money! That's what we love to see!

16 teams have four games this week while the other 14 teams have three games. That means any team is truly viable this week, but you can wait to add players on the Celtics, Mavericks, Pistons, Clippers, or Knicks as they don't have a game until Wednesday. I'm going to avoid Warriors players in this writeup as they don't play until Thursday and things are sure to change between now and then.

Week 24 Standard 9-Category Leagues

Columns are written based on H2H nine-category standard size leagues:

FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE

Damian Jones - C - Sacramento Kings (32% rostered)

The Kings have a bit of a tricky schedule since they play on Tuesday then not again until Saturday and Sunday. He's worth rostering for the week though as he's been shooting 73% from the field over the past two weeks and the Kings have nothing to play for now. Domantas Sabonis hasn't been ruled out for the season just yet, but it feels like that's coming in the next few days. Damian Jones should hold onto his value as long as Sabonis remains out.

Other streamers:

  • Dwight Powell - PF/C - Dallas Mavericks (21% rostered)
  • Nicolas Claxton - C - Brooklyn Nets (24% rostered)
  • Isaiah Hartenstein - PF/C - Los Angeles Clippers (40% rostered)
  • Obi Toppin - SF/PF - New York Knicks (24% rostered)
  • Isaiah Jackson - PF/C - Indiana Pacers (21% rostered)
  • Terry Taylor - SG/SF - Indiana Pacers (4% rostered)

FREE THROW PERCENTAGE

Dwight Powell - PF/C - Dallas Mavericks (21% rostered)

I am once again asking you to pick up Dwight Powell. He averaged 10.3 points, six rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game on absolutely stellar percentages of 63.6% from the field and 92.9% from the line. Go get him.

Other streamers:

  • Devin Vassell - SG/SF - San Antonio Spurs (40% rostered)
  • Trey Lyles - PF/C - Sacramento Kings (25% rostered)
  • Luke Kennard - SG/SF - Los Angeles Clippers (22% rostered)
  • Malik Beasley - PG/SG - Minnesota Timberwolves (31% rostered)
  • Brandon Williams - PG - Portland Trail Blazers (34% rostered)

POINTS

De'Anthony Melton - PG/SG - Memphis Grizzlies (49% rostered)

Ja Morant should be reevaluated towards the end of the week, but there's no guarantee he'll be back. In the meantime, Tyus Jones and De'Anthony Melton get significant bumps, and Melton in particular is the guy to target if you need points. He's averaged 19.4 points per game over the past two weeks and is also a great source of defensive stats, especially blocks from the guard position.

Other streamers:

  • Theo Maledon - PG - Oklahoma City Thunder (37% rostered)
  • Ben McLemore - SG/SF - Portland Trail Blazers (15% rostered)
  • Oshae Brissett - SF/PF - Indiana Pacers (30% rostered)
  • Danilo Gallinari - SF/PF - Atlanta Hawks (20% rostered)
  • Damian Jones - C - Sacramento Kings (32% rostered)

THREE-POINTERS

De'Anthony Melton - PG/SG - Memphis Grizzlies (49% rostered)

Oh shoot, here we go again. It's the same guy being suggested for points and three-pointers for a second week in a row. Let's hope this week is more successful than last week.

Other streamers:

REBOUNDS

Damian Jones - C - Sacramento Kings (32% rostered)

The same guy who is going to get you an awesome field goal percentage this week is also going to get you the most rebounds. Go figure. That's sarcasm by the way as Damian Jones is a center and those are two categories they typically do better than average. Damian Jones has averaged 8.3 rebounds per game over the past two weeks, which should be helpful in this category.

Other streamers:

  • Isaiah Roby - C - Oklahoma City Thunder (50% rostered)
  • Alperen Sengun - C - Houston Rockets (39% rostered)
  • Reggie Perry - PF - Portland Trail Blazers (0% rostered)
  • Deni Avdija - SG/SF/PF - Washington Wizards (23% rostered)
  • Onyeka Okongwu - PF/C - Atlanta Hawks (19% rostered)

ASSISTS

Tyus Jones - PG - Memphis Grizzlies (23% rostered)

I'd love to put someone else here, but Tyus Jones is still available in a majority of leagues and is the one guy who will put up assists at a high rate, guaranteed. He has averaged 7.3 dimes per contest over the past two weeks. Ja Morant should be out for most of this week. That makes Tuesday's game against Utah a nice opportunity, at the very least.

Other streamers:

  • Tomas Satoransky - PG/SG - Washington Wizards (5% rostered)
  • Aleksej Pokusevski - SF/PF - Oklahoma City Thunder (39% rostered)
  • Kris Dunn - PG/SG - Portland Trail Blazers (13% rostered)
  • Brandon Williams - PG - Portland Trail Blazers (34% rostered)
  • Ish Smith - PG - Washington Wizards (5% rostered)

STEALS

Killian Hayes - PG/SG - Detroit Pistons (32% rostered)

Killian Hayes is closing the season strong and has averaged 2.4 steals per contest to go along with 4.3 assists per game over the past few weeks, but he's really come on strong the last week or so. Points, steals, threes, and assists should be plentiful for the young guard on a tanking team.

Other streamers:

  • Donte DiVincenzo - PG/SG - Sacramento Kings (22% rostered)
  • Matisse Thybulle - SG/SF - Philadelphia 76ers (45% rostered)
  • Jae Crowder - SF/PF - Phoenix Suns (39% rostered)
  • Markelle Fultz - PG/SG - Orlando Magic (22% rostered)
  • Patrick Beverley - PG/SG - Minnesota Timberwolves (31% rostered)

BLOCKS

JaVale McGee - C - Phoenix Suns (19% rostered)

JaVale McGee certainly has a role on this Suns team, and with a seven-game lead on their competition, they may sit Deandre Ayton from time to time as well. JaVale has averaged two blocks per contest over the past two weeks, but he's been doing that kind of thing for years. He's as reliable as they come, as long as he's suiting up.

Other streamers:

  • Damian Jones - C - Sacramento Kings (32% rostered)
  • Isaiah Hartenstein - PF/C - Los Angeles Clippers (14% rostered)
  • Isaiah Roby - C - Oklahoma City Thunder (50% rostered)
  • Nicolas Claxton - C - Brooklyn Nets (24% rostered)
  • Larry Nance Jr. - PF/C - New Orleans Pelicans (23% rostered)
