Should I trade for Julio Rodriguez, Corbin Carroll, Adolis Garcia in fantasy baseball Week 16? Are these players fantasy baseball buy or sell trade targets?
BALLER MOVE: Buy Julio Rodriguez
ANALYSIS: It has been a rough year for any fantasy manager who drafted Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez in the first round of drafts. Rodriguez is currently hitting .247 with eight home runs, seven doubles, and 30 RBI across 91 games. However, now is the perfect time to trade for him.
For starters, there are signs that Rodriguez will eventually turn it around at the plate. His expected batting average (.275), expected slugging (.448), average exit velocity (91.3 mph), and hard-hit rate (47.8%) all rank in the top half of the league. So, expect things to even out for the 23-year-old in the second half of the season.
As an encore for his homer earlier -- and in his first at-bat since jamming his thumb -- Julio Rodríguez rockets a 113.0 mph double into left-center here in the 7th inning ... He's fired up.

Rodriguez has also been known as more of a second-half player over his short career. In 2022, he hit .303 with 12 HRs and 23 RBI after the All-Star break, and last year, he hit .308 with 19 HRs and 54 RBI across the final 68 games. With the All-Star break coming up, the Mariners outfielder should post much better numbers for the rest of the year.
BALLER MOVE: Sell Corbin Carroll
ANALYSIS: Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is another disappointing fantasy player. After hitting .285 with 25 HRs, 30 doubles, 10 triples, 54 stolen bases, and 76 RBI, many believed Carroll was going to be even better in his second full major league season.

However, that hasn't necessarily been the case. He is currently hitting .210 with just three HRs, 15 doubles, six triples, and 24 RBI across his first 88 games. On top of that, Carroll's metrics don't point to him picking it up anytime soon, either. His expected batting average (.246), expected slugging (.341), and average exit velocity (87.9 mph) all rank in the bottom half of the league.
So, it might be time to trade away Carroll before the All-Star break. He has looked lost at the plate for most of the year while hitting a mere .230 against fastballs in 2024.
BALLER MOVE: Buy Adolis Garcia
ANALYSIS: Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia went through a rough month-long stretch from May 6 to June 19, where he hit .141 (19-for-135) with five HRs, four doubles, and 13 RBI across 36 games. Garcia has been better as of late -- with hits in 11 of his past 15 games -- but his .215 average is extremely low at this point in the year.
However, fantasy managers should be looking to buy low on Garcia in fantasy. Despite all the struggles at the plate in 2024, the 31-year-old still has 15 HRs. That puts him on pace for 29 HRs this year, which would be the fourth straight season he has totaled over 27 HRs. So, if you're looking for some power on your fantasy team, look to acquire the Rangers outfielder because better days should be ahead for him.
